Quit Your Job and Get a PhD
Perl still gets the job done as the crow flies.
You certainly wouldn't remember me, but I listened to a lecture you gave on blogging and social media when I took "Internet Marketing" from Paul Allen a few years ago at BYU. I've since had a great interest in the power of these technologies and visit your blog here on occasion.
We're getting ready to launch our site we've been working at for the last several months at digitalsignage.com. We essentially got lucky in purchasing the key domain in a burgeoning industry. Since then, we've been creating a UGC news feed for the site which should be live in the next week or two. A full press release will follow.
Interestingly, I've been looking at creative ways to get the word out so to speak on the site, twitter being one. I think we've barely scratched the surface in a lot of ways on the power of microblogging. In fact, I recently read an article where Twitter had passed Digg for traffic. We'll be using a twitter refeed of some sort to feed from our industry UGC news feed, but it was just a coincidence that when I ran upon your blog, you'd created your own! You're right, it's not like we need to reinvent the wheel, but I'm glad to see you're looking to harness the power of what the twitter folks have created.
Any suggestions and input you have with any of this, on what works or does not would be great. Have a good one.
Nate
